Hey, thanks for stopping by.
I'm Jeri Westerson and simply put: I write mysteries. Medieval mysteries. Mysteries with an enigmatic, flawed, sexy, and very different protagonist. His name is Crispin Guest and he's an ex-knight turned private eye. You might want to think of him as a Medieval Sam Spade and these mysteries as Medieval Noir. That's what makes him and these novels different. They're full of hard-hitting action and characters with dirty little secrets. Then there's the added twist dropped in the middle of murder: a relic with mystical powers. They always seem to stir things up, whether it's something everyone wants to get their hands on or can't wait to get rid of.
Now the first outing is VEIL OF LIES, which was recently nominated for a Macavity Award.
I think Readers will be fascinated by the fourteenth century time period, the medieval London setting, the intrigue of King Richard II's court, the mysterious relics that propell the story, Crispin's angst and romance, the murder and whodunnit, his reformed cutpurse protege Jack Tucker's next adventures...oh so much more than your average medieval mystery.
And very soon, at the end of September, you can continue reading about Crispin's adventures in the next installment, SERPENT IN THE THORNS.
Do visit Crispin on his very own blog at www.CrispinGuest.com
Some personal facts: I was born and bred in Los Angeles and so far have not managed to live outside of Southern California. I've been writing fiction for some time, became a freelance reporter, and published award-winning short stories.
